It is almost Christmas and all through the house …
not a creature is stirring – not even a mouse!
Well I didn’t actually come up with those words, they were made famous by someone else way before I wrote them here 🙂
But as soon as I wrote the word “Christmas”, they popped into my head as a warm and lovely memory.
Books are filled with lovely, yummy, delicous words, some of which we easily remember, but generally they are part of the overall picture or story that’s in the book.
I hope you have chosen books as gifts for family and friends — especially younger children. There’s nothing quite like having a book read to you until you’ve memorised the pages by the images, and until you can read the book all by yourself.
This is a wonderful part of childhood.
Getting books as adults is also thrilling, as no matter how many books I have in my Kindle reader, I’ll always love the printed words to be read when holding a book aloft to read as I recline on the sofa 🙂
What about you? Got any special books you’ve loved over the years?
Thinking of any books you’d love to buy for yourself — or receive as gifts?
Let those around you know what those books are, let them part of your love of reading, and ask the special people in your like which book THEY’d like to receive.
You might be surprised to find how many people are book lovers, just like you!
