How To Be Happy As An Author Writing A Book

How To Be Happy As An Author Writing A Book?

Have You Been Wondering How To Be Happy As An Author Writing A Book?

Every author will have different answers to this question about being happy writing a book.

I’ve been writing for many years, in many different ways, and here are some suggestions that I’d like to share with you today:

  1. The first tip is to give yourself a pat on the back for taking the amazing first step of deciding to write a book. 🙂
  2. See your accomplishments every day when you sit at your desk, or wherever you are writing – pin them on the noticeboard that’s easy to see from where you  sit, or tape them to the wall so that you can read them when you’re getting ready to start writing. The main thing to do is just make sure that these little accomplishments are VISIBLE. Here are a couple of suggestions:
    • Reviews from anything you have already written
    •  Screenshots from anywhere online where your name is mentioned in relation to having written something.
    • If you have already published anywhere, and that can be found online, take a screenshot of that.
    • If you have written any articles, or anything that has been mentioned in a journal, a newsletter, a magazine, etc, these are all wonderful pieces of evidence to show that you can write and have appeared in printed matter already.
    • The idea of seeing your accomplishments every day will boost your confidence, especially if you smile as you read them out loud. 🙂
  3.  Search online for writing, groups, or author groups that you can join, so that you can get to know other authors and share your questions with them. This helps on so many levels because it helps an author to realise that they are not alone in this wonderful, crazy pursuit of being an author! One example of this is my own author group, which I host once a month online. People can sign up and join us for around an hour each month, talk about their trials and tribulations with writing, tell us about their successes and feel part of a like-minded group.
  4. Think about giving yourself a schedule of how much to write each day or each time you want to be intentional about writing. Once you have a schedule and you reach your goals after each writing session, give yourself a big pat on the back and except the praise for having achieved your goal for that’s writing session. Maybe you’d like a treat as a reward, something that makes you smile and feel proud of yourself.

Tere are many ways to feel good about being an author, as more come to mind I will add them to this list over time.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations or would like to share any of your tips, I would absolutely love to hear from you! I will add your suggestions or recommendations to this page as well and give you credit for that. And guess what? That means you will be appearing somewhere, using your written words for people to find you online! Woohoo! Congratulations in advance 🙂

I do hope this has helped you in some way, and I look forward to hearing from you by writing a comment on this page, or sending me an email or getting in touch with me on any of the socials below.
